Yup, and there's two factors to that. First is that what we earn isn't based on followers (thank god, really) it's based on reads. Having many followers just increases the odds of getting read, but it's NO guarantee, for sure.

Second is that we get paid based on how much the reader reads. If Jane Doe reads 5 articles and one is mine, I get 1/5 of her member fee. If John Doe reads 20 articles and one is mine, I get 1/20 of his member fee.

So the crap and porn and how to make money articles actually hurt everyone because they're like driving past an accident. People can't help but look. And it costs everyone.
