Yes — cut and paste into another doc. I have tons of those snippets saved. And little anecdotes that will find their way in somewhere, too.

Starting over is just part of the process, I think. I rewrite so much it’s ridiculous. Hemingway said writers are trying to master a craft that has no masters. He’s not wrong!
