Yay, math of averages. Two people take a test. One gets 0%. Total fail. The other gets 100%. The class average is 50% — which is an accurate reflection of precisely nothing.

All the goldfish who don’t finish the first paragraph negate all the people who read the whole thing and scrolled back up to re-read bits as well. The averages are terribly unhelpful.

You know how Amazon shows a list — xx people left 5 stars, xx people left 4 stars and so on? That would be more helpful. Show us how the average breaks down not just the average.

Stats would be great if the people creating them understood what’s helpful and what’s just more useless data.
