When it's me writing, I look for the "wtf" -- because in almost every woman's life (historically speaking) there's always a WTF.

That's where my Virginia Woolf one came from -- everyone said she was depressed, insane, in asylums half her life, blah, blah. No one mentions that she was raped when her age was a single digit. By her stepbrothers. There's the WTF.

Once you look for the WTF, the story ideas just never freaking end. lol
