Welcome to feminism, my friend. As a Canadian watching from just above the border, sometimes I wonder if Americans have a death wish.

Right now, 43 million people in America live in poverty. If you add the people that live “near-poverty” it becomes 100 million. 1/3 of your population.

In 2018, Philip Alston (of the United Nations) filed a report on poverty and said over 5 million people in the USA live in “third world” conditions.

The Federal Reserve says that 40% of Americans could not afford a $400 emergency bill and 51% of America cannot afford to miss a paycheck.

Even worse, 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

But y’all keep voting in elite frat boys.

When Trump won, I read interviews with people who live in poverty — and they said tripe like a “rich man” will know how to “fix” the USA. It makes my head want to explode. Rich men are WHY so many people live in poverty.

In the last 40 years, CEO salaries increased 1007% while worker salaries increased 11.9%. But y’all just keep putting those bozos in the white house. Because patriarchy.

How bad does it need to get before y’all wake up?

But still, I remember when Americans came out in record numbers to rip up the race card and put the first black man in the White House.

And I hope that everyone who is marginalized — everyone who the frat squad doesn’t give a damn about — every woman who isn’t kept by a rich man, every person of color, every LGBTQ person — I wish they would all raise their voices starting right now and knock the frat boys out of the running.
