We like to think we are rational, but the coronavirus shows how not rational so many of us are. Health officials are screaming at people to stop buying N95 masks because they do not prevent us from getting COVID-19, but people are buying them anyway and they are sold out everywhere.
Then they wear them incorrectly, because all N95 masks are SINGLE USE. And since people who don’t have COVID-19 are buying up the masks, the people who are caring for actual sick people with COVID-19 can’t get them, which encourages spread of the disease.
To top it off, all the people buying up hand sanitizer and N95 masks are the same people who don’t even know how to wash their hand properly and once again, health officials are hollering for people to use tissue when you sneeze or cough, cover your nose, cover your mouth and wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap.
