Those are valid and thoughtful questions. I suspect the largest factor is that we age. You know? For example, rape happens in all age groups, but happens most to young girls and young women from 12–25 or thereabouts. Maybe it’s 35, honestly I’d need to go back to my sources and look again so don’t quote me. lol. Point being, as time goes by, young girls reach the age where they are at risk and some women pass the age where they are. While 60 years olds do get raped, it’s not nearly in the numbers that 25 year old women get raped.
