This just makes me sad. Because it’s not how marketing *work* — it’s how marketing doesn’t work, but it’s what everyone thinks they are supposed to do, so they do it because they’re “supposed to” not because it works.

I have worked in marketing over 20 years. I have taken more than one company to over a million in annual sales, and these are small mom & pops. I helped a solo entrepreneur increase his sales tenfold.

Never once did we do those things. Because they don’t work. People repeat them iver and over ad nauseum because they don’t work and they only get half a percent response each time. There’s a better way and people like you rock at the better way because you already hate the trash most people call marketing.

Sorry this was so long. Bad shouty marketing is my biggest pet peeve, if you couldn’t tell.
