They’re not being ignored because they’re not obnoxious, though on the surface it seems that way. They’re being ignored because they are women.

If women praised their own work the way men do, they’d get even less acknowledgement. Because if there’s one thing dudes can’t stand it’s a braggy broad, and especially one that’s doing better work than they are.

Women learned a long time ago to work twice as hard, keep your head down, and don’t brag and crow. That’s how you get any credit at all.
