The problem, of course, is that it’s not “a few comments” — it’s a perspective. A way of looking at the world. A perception of privilege and pecking order that permeates everything they think and say. And it stinks.

The people lamenting that others shouldn’t be “ruined” by a few comments don’t want to look at “comments” vs “perspective” because those “comments” mirror their own worldview. All too often, the views and perceptions of the defenders are just as toxic as the dinosaurs they defend.
