That's the story I hear all the time. Except it's a bit of a stretch. His mom divorced his Dad when he was 1 and by age 4 she was remarried to Michael Bezos. That's hardly being raised by a single mom.

Plus, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton. I don't know many "rags" stories that include Princeton.

An Amazon warehouse worker would need to work for 204 years (full time) to earn what Bezos earns in ONE HOUR. He could pay his staff a little better and never miss it. He couldn't be bothered. They don't matter. People are replaceable to him.
