That’s a loaded question, and I’m half tempted to write an entire article about it. It’s really hard, because we aren’t the only influence. We can do everything “right” at home, but school and friends and society also factor in. Every time I see a girl sent home from school for showing her shoulders or having a skirt that’s half an inch too short it makes me shudder at the lesson it’s teaching the boys. I wonder how those same boys react if one of them was sent home for showing off his strong arms or wide shoulders because the poor girls can’t think because of him. You know?

If I was to try come up with a short answer, I’d say talk, talk, talk. Talk about what is right and what is wrong. What’s fair and what’s not. Because really, conversation is all we have, you know?
