That describes a few people, for sure. I think they're the minority. A lot of people never cared about anyone else long before the pandemic started.
We live in a culture of "me first," "I got mine," and "get off my lawn." Long before the virus jumped to humans there were people who'd call the cops to get that homeless veteran out of their neighborhood instead of wondering why a veteran is homeless in the first place.
