Seems to me the only difference between the two is a job and luck. Both got their scripts picked up, just at different time. One was first, is all.

In another version of the story, written by Malcolm Gladwell, the hustler is the jack of all trades and the other guy is the one that followed the 10,000 hours rule.

So which one is right? Depends. Both. None. Luck and income enough to pay the bills. That's what everyone needs. :)
