Seems to me ass kissing would only apply if we clap for something we didn’t enjoy because the writer is someone we want to impress. Like if your boss posts crappy stuff and you clap 50 times b/c it’s the boss. Clapping for something you actually enjoy isn’t ass kissing. It’s appreciation.

I think the only people at risk of hitting limits might be people who clap without reading. But Medium knows whether we read or not, so if you’re actually reading, I doubt you’ll hit any caps. I never have and I read a lot.
