Phyllis, this is beautifully written. I help the homeless when I can, but that we should need to (any of us) makes me kind of mad. Truth is, we have enough wealth as a nation (both the usa and canada) that the government could eradicate homelessness overnight if they wanted to. They don’t care.

We live in a culture where the wealthy think they “deserve” what they have and that “do-not-have” is the same as “do-not-deserve” and nothing could be farther from the truth.
