Perhaps less people care about trying anymore. It doesn’t take long to figure out that the top paid writers are writing for Medium publications.
It also doesn’t take long to figure out that many people are writing about Medium on Medium because it gets clicks. As a reader, it gets tiring.
Medium is becoming two separate communities.
— One is the circle of people writing for Medium publications.
— The other community is the people writing and reading about Medium.
If writers want to earn more, they need more readers. Not all readers want to read about how to make money on Medium. Maybe time to see less of that? If I mute all the content about making money on Medium and all the “self-help,” I see old posts. Houston, we have a problem.
Sometimes short term gain causes long term pain. Perhaps that’s what we’re seeing here?
