In my time on Medium, I’ve seen plenty of prominent publications move off platform or just close up shop completely. One notable exception. History Of Yesterday used to bring 2 million views per month to Medium. They left because Medium wasn't surfacing (ie distribution, then) history pieces. Not general interest enough.
