Oh my gosh, that’s the last place you should measure the strength of your voice! There’s an old saying that says something to the effect of “you can’t be a prophet in your own hometown…”

The people you know best are the ones least likely to sway their opinions because of yours.

Tactile things, sure. You can show them how to clean up their computer, or format a resume. Maybe. More likely they just repeatedly call you to do it for them.

But opinions? Heavens no. Took me forever to really accept that. But I wish I’d accepted it decades before I did. Would have saved me so much heartache.

Here, though, you have a really good shot! Keep on writing. :)
