Oh, I can so relate to this. Practically Martha Stewart once, decorating, baking, cooking. And then — life, hospitals, surgeries, divorce, being a single mother, working all the time. ALL the time.
And then last year, agonizing for so long over baking a gluten free fruitcake for my daughter who loves fruit cake and can’t eat gluten and the grocer stopped carrying the one we used to get. Who agonizes over dried fruit? How much will it swell when I soak it? Am I using too much? Not enough? But I did it and it was marvelous. I liked this a lot, Dana.
