Of course, the difference is that in the 1950s, the CEOs of big companies earned 35x what the average worker earned. And paid their fair share of taxes. Now the average CEO earns the average worker's annual salary before noon on New Year's Day and pays less taxes than a Walmart Employee. So we shall see, eh? Because if all those companies creating things to export treat employees the same way Jeff Bezos does, then I'd hold off on the celebrating. Might just pave the way to the kind of company towns Bezos wants to build. We shall see.
