Not sure when it happened, but now that I think of it, here’s the strange thing… apparently having to sign up isn’t universal, either. Because when it changed, I did not sign up for any, but I still get some. Like, I didn’t sign up for Mind Café (with their fancy formatting) but I still receive it.
Seems to me the newsletters that have advanced formatting options also have different criteria for recipients. Their followers just get it. So clearly, the signup process isn’t any more universal than the design options.
You can see how many people they are sending to. Just go to your pub, then newsletters > more options > stats. It will show how many are being sent.
My publication is brand spanking new. Only has 384 readers. But know how many newsletters go out? 10. TEN. It’s really frustrating. Before Medium changed it, they used to go out to everyone who followed.
