Nope. It doesn't. Virtue signaling is when people brag themselves up to make others look bad by comparison. Like the aunt who shows up every christmas dinner and says "she" spent christmas even at a soup kitchen, and then asks what I did. That's not what you do.

Also, there's a name for all that "someone had it worse" crap. It's psychological invalidation -- which is a real thing. People who do that are jerks.
