My thoughts on wisdom changed after I spent a year caring for my Dad when he was dying. He was in the early stages of dementia. As I watched people interact with him, some of the people I once saw as wise, I could no longer see as such.
Google tells me that wisdom is good judgement. I would add fair to that. And I’m not sure a person can be wise without a heaping helping of compassion.
Maybe that’s why so many people struggle with it. Compassion and ego don’t play well together.
