Know what I figured out? And it took me a shit ton of years to figure this one out. The people who think they are the sharpest tool in the shed are the ones you gotta run away from. Run fast. Run far.

For what it's worth, I learned the same lesson. I do always hit that elusive hundred bucks. Sometimes in a couple days. But it's a gamble. It's like blackjack or throwing the dice. Sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down. Frustrating as hell and just as addictive.

When push comes to shove, it's the people. Plus that thing Kafka said. A non-writing writer is a monster courting insanity. If I don't write, I start to get whacko. Might as well be here.
