It’s like branding meets Psycho, and it goes beyond fake news. Advertising claims, click bait, you name it. A lot of people spread stuff because they saw a headline (and image) on Facebook.

Seems all you need to do is get it in front of them enough times for them to pass it on. Yay, re-targeting. It’s really rather despicable to watch.
