Interesting that you zeroed in on the part I debated on. I'd first typed "is" -- but changed it. I suspect there's "some" room for people to read stuff like the Secret, or Norman VIncent Peale, and use that type of thinking to correct our human tendency towards negativity. But I suspect most people don't use that type of writing as the root of growth, but instead use it to become yet more entitled and to have less empathy. That's why I switched to 'borders on.' :)
