I understand the comment you make farther down about people being happy in poor countries. Yes, relationships enrich us. No question.

What about the parent who has to choose whether to pay rent or buy food? What about the parent who can't afford their child's meds. Do you not realize our ability to provide the basics for our family affects our emotional health? You cannot so easily separate emotional and financial health because too often today, they are linked.

I think you are trivializing and separating that which can not be separated for the sake of story and you do an injustice to people living that struggle.
