I think this is really subjective. For example, if my mother had mental health problems and I later saw them so clearly in her writing, it probably would help me understand her and maybe even comfort me. (omg, I’m not crazy after all — it’s all here in black and white)

I do think, more than anything, that we all need to recognize our OWN barriers. Not just for writing, but also for reading.

For example, I know what I’m not comfortable writing — but I also know what I’m not comfortable reading. Then it becomes simple to know which titles (or writers) not to read.

This was a great thought piece!! Made me think about some of those oversharing posts in a new light. ❤
