I suspect the lesson is actually not to spend your entire life doing something you hate just to pay the damn bills. But “do what you love” sounds sexier and more inspiring, no?
Course, the rub is that when we’re doing a thing for money, nasty things like skill, persistence and proficiency come into play.
Not too many people want to talk about that stuff. It’s not nearly as charming as dream-chasing.
P.S. If you were to create your own publication, you’d be able to email when you have a new post. Maybe that could lead to more than just paying the Internet connection. No idea, since I haven’t taken my own advice, but seems to make some kind of sense. I should do it, too. :)
