I love this entire piece. The research and citations are killer. Drop dead killer and I wish I could have given you more than 50 claps.

I’m not sure misogyny is the right word, but I don’t think there’s a better word because we don’t have a word for “control of woman.” Make any sense?

Most of the pro-lifers I know are women, and they’d quickly say they don’t hate women, and they’re not prejudiced against women because they are women themselves — but yet, there they are, telling other women what they ought to be doing with their bodies.

We could say they’re supporting patriarchy, but even still, that’s not the right word either, because patriarchy means more than just controlling women. Seems to me the English language leaves much to be desired. Given the centuries of control over the woman’s body, why don’t we have a word for it?
