I love that you mentioned the photo. I just love it, too. So many people have the mistaken idea that girls have to be more like boys, and women more like men to be considered “strong” women. But it’s rule #1 again. Her body. She can wear what she wants and a saucy little princess can wear a tutu and be a strong minded child too. Same with women. I once had someone tell me I don’t “look like” a feminist whatever the heck that meant. So I intentionally used that photo. She is adorable to me she also looks happy and free. Plus, I think you can see a saucy attitude and I loved that. And you’re right. There will be men who look at a photo like that and have feelings that aren’t appropriate. But the solution isn’t to hide her away or cover her up. She’s not the problem. You know? I like that you brought that up, too. They are important conversations to have in wide open spaces.
