I learned that in first grade when class was getting ready for the Christmas pageant. Very innocently I looked at the props and asked teacher why the baby dolly was white when Jesus was a Jew. I offered to bring a brown dolly from home. Then she phoned my mother to have a talk with me.

And I’m not even American, I’m Canadian. It’s not just America, it’s the entire westernized world, I think.
