I figure it's real simple. First the affiliate program cut into writers pay. When you expect people to do the same amount of work for half the pay, they get disgruntled. So a lot of disgruntled writers aren't spending as much time here. Writers have always been the most avid readers. Except now they're not. That's what we're seeing.
