I don't think they're that smart. They just look for opportunities to increase profit because predatory practices. They were handed 2 opportunities on a platter. Covid and the war. They can say gas prices are up because of the war. Even if it's not true. And grocery prices are up because of Covid. I don't know why they bother with excuses. Not like we can do much about it. Except maybe ride a bike or walk and grow a garden.
