I am sure there are many people (including women) who don’t want the work big results require. Those are not the women I am talking about.

Here at Medium, it’s just writing. It’s not politics or a 12 hour office job. A woman who loves to write can write while her child is asleep or at school and many do.

There are many women who post 2–3 times a day and earn a good income so they can stay home with their kids. But despite that, they do not crack that top 100 list. Many don’t make the top 200 or top 300. It’s filled with men who drop by and post a couple of times a week.

This is a societal problem — women work twice as hard to get half the result because men are often perceived as being more credible, simply by virtue of being male. That is part of what patriarchy means.
