I am also in tech. I don’t entirely agree with your third paragraph assessment because LLMs are essentially doing math calculations and will never learn in the same way as humans because they are not sentient. But that said, people who work in tech definitely have a deeper level of understanding. My goal here was to share some basic awareness that most people who are not in tech don’t yet have because the gap is really wide. We must learn the alphabet and how to read before we can learn to conjugate verbs, you know?
