I am a Momma Bear. One thing I tell my daughter is that we humans get a lot of concepts bass-ackwards. Like judgement. Because ooh, don’t judge, right? But that’s not entirely right. We don’t get to judge how other people live their lives, but we sure as heck DO get to judge what’s right for US.
If you look at it that way, a lot of guilt falls away. Someone is rude to you? Nope, that kind of reaction isn’t for me — I prefer people who respond civilly. Someone is angry? That’s fine. Anger is fine. Being shitty because of anger isn’t fine. That’s on them, not you. They choose their response, you choose if it’s right for you.
Save guilt for if you step on a kitten or hurt another being on purpose.
