Historians tell us there is a collective delusion that all fascist movements bring upon their followings.

In the case of Hitler's Nazis, most German civilians were aware of the mass killing, but looked the other way because they were convinced the war was one of self-defense, a fight for survival.

They believed the French, Russians, British and Americans were "evil" people with "Jewish masters" that wanted to destroy Germany.

How is that any different than the things we are seeing in the news today? Make America great again, get rid of the immigrants, build a wall, screaming at brown people to go back where they came from.

Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.

One more. After the dictatorship fell, most people felt shame and distanced themselves, denying that they "supported" Herr Dictator.

The real telling will not be in 60 days. But what happens in 60 days will determine what may happen at election 2024.

America can fix it now, or take one step closer to "12 more years" as Potus likes to "joke" about. He's not joking.
