Hey Duncan — I’m sorry, I phrased that poorly! You’re right that it’s embedded in society. What I meant to say is that because white privilege IS a societal construct, white people will continue to have it as long as their skin is white. It’s not something we take for ourselves, like a cup of coffee or a donut. It’s something bestowed upon us by a society that sees black and brown people as inferior. Until that changes, the privilege goes along with skin color.
