Hey Danny. Funny how the quotes that resonate with us give a peek inside, isn’t it? Here’s mine…

“Life is either a daring adventure — or nothing at all.” Helen Keller

New things are often scary, but if we look at them as an adventure, it some- times helps still the butterflies. When I first started writing, that was my thought. Well this is an adventure — let’s see where it goes.

“Life is trying things to see if they work.” -Ray Bradbury

Bradbury says the same thing, but simpler. “Let’s try this” can be the start of many great adventures. Plus, it removes the self factor and puts focus on the thing. ie; not “can *I* write” but “let’s try writing, see how it goes”

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” -Thomas A. Edison

I love this one because perseverance can take a person much farther than innate talent or almost anything else. A person with little talent and much effort can go much farther than a person with talent but little effort.

“I never dreamed about success, I worked for it.” -Estee Lauder

We often like to talk about the luck factor in success of any sort. And while there is some luck, I often think that people put too much weight on luck and think others “got lucky” when luck and opportunity were the smaller factors and the bigger factor was effort and perseverance.

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” -Henry Ford

Don’t even need to explain this one. People who do not believe in themselves tend to achieve exactly what they think they will. And while believing in itself isn’t enough, it needs to start there.

Thanks for the prompt. :)
