From a social perspective, I see the merits of what you’re saying. But on the other hand, sometimes the people who seem “bad” at conversation just have little time or patience for the mundane conversations people tend to have in social settings.

Sometimes, they’re the people with fascinating hobbies or interests that can tell you stuff that would blow your mind seven different ways but they don’t talk about that stuff because too many people act like it’s weird and they’re weird and so they keep it close their chest and don’t share easily.
