Dennett, I’m laughing. No worries, most of America doesn’t know Canada has a different Thanksgiving. Here, it’s food, family and whatever sport is playing, which is probably Hockey, but I could be wrong. Maybe football here, too.
Honestly, I don’t even take the entire day off. All of my clients are American, so I celebrate American holidays more than Canadian ones. Most years, my daughter and I go to the beach for a couple of hours on Thanksgiving just to say we dipped into the water in October and then back to work, but it will be too chilly for that this year.
I didn’t grow up celebrating Canadian holidays, so I don’ have much attachment to them. As a child, we celebrated all the ethnic/Orthodox holidays my parents grew up so now my daughter and I celebrate an odd combination of inherited and American holidays. It works for us. lol.
