Christ on a pogo stick, this is my Achilles Heel. I’ve been in marketing for 38 years, 21 of them online. I have marketed everything from $35/pound coffee to home renovation and then some.

Here’s what I know. Selling “how to make money” programs to people who are hurting financially isn’t even remotely similar to selling real, tangible products to people who have to fork over their credit card data and wait for USPS.

Honestly, I came here prepared to get cranky. (Sort of like the bizarre people that watch Howard Stern because they hate him.) Why? Because I’m sick to death of open letters and shock jocks and verbal brawling and the title made me think this was another of those.

Imagine my surprise when I found myself agreeing with much of what you say.

But here’s an interesting observation. When you’ve been online for 21 years, it’s amazing how many of “those” people have disappeared. In the long run, shitty, substandard work (as you put it) doesn’t stand up to the test of time.
