In Canada, we often vote “against” someone by voting for whoever is most likely to beat the candidate we want to get rid of, whether they would have been our choice or not. Strategic voting, it’s called. People don’t seem to do that much in America. They want to “like” who they vote for or they’d rather vote for no one, which is a vote for the current leadership, of course.
